What Do We Believe At Commitment? Statement of Faith
At the core of what we believe and why we exist as a Church is Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:15-19: 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him.
We uphold these 7 Core Beliefs as essential to the Christian faith:
We believe. . . that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and without mistakes as originally written. It is the complete revelation of His will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.
We believe. . . in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.
We believe. . . in the deity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His substitutionary death on a cross; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His personal, imminent return.
We believe. . . that man was created by and for God; that by man's disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God, and physical death as a consequence; and that all people are sinners by nature and practice.
We believe. . . the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous because of His sacrificial death and are, therefore, in the right relationship with God.
We believe. . . in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers and thus enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer.
We believe. . . in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, the everlasting blessedness of those in right relationship with God, and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God's forgiveness in His Son.

Who is Commitment’s Senior Pastor? Church Leadership
Cedrick Brown was born and raised in the city of Compton, California which some has labeled the “gang capitol of the World” and where he began to excel in the game of football. Football became a way-out landing him at Washington State University (1982-86) where he again continued to stand out as a four-year letterman and three-year-starter at defensive back while majoring in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He then signed as a free-agent with the Philadelphia Eagles under the legendary “Buddy” Ryan (1986-1988). Cedrick has also spent fifteen years in sales and executive sales management with Alcoa Home Exteriors; he is a sought after public speaker for churches, family and outreach events, men’s groups, youth groups, public schools, and more; He is the author of “Influencing Your World” and "The Racial and Cultural Divide"; He also has a Bachelors from Philadelphia Biblical University, his Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Theology from Slidell Baptist Seminary. He is the Founding Pastor of Commitment Community Church located in Lindenwold—one of most racially and culturally diverse churches in the state of New Jersey and where he has served since 1996. Cedrick has been married to his beautiful wife Lisa for over twenty years and they have three wonderful children together: one son and two daughters.
